Germans In Canada
Thursday, September 13, 2018, the first of the many memorable days of Global ‘19. Around 4:00 p.m., all the Canadian Globalites were waiting in anticipation, anxious to meet our new German friends. At the time, we hardly knew one another, yet we were ready to embark on an amazing, educational, month-long journey together. Once they arrived, a flood of positive vibes and exciting energy filled the air. We had no clue how our lives would change on that first day of Global.
Together, with our well-matched exchange partners, we headed to many Ontario and Quebec landmarks. Including:
- Algonquin Park
- Barrie City Hall / Downtown Barrie - Canada’s Wonderland - Collingwood - Montreal - Niagara Falls - Ottawa |
- Quebec City
- School Trips - Stratford - Toronto - Toronto Zoo and Science Center - Wasaga Beach |
Every Global Perspectives student was given the opportunity to attend two day trips with our German partners. Some exceptions applied, including the big trip to Ottawa, Quebec, and Montreal. Overall, everyone enjoyed these day trips and used it as a way to bond with our partners, all of the other German exchange partners and each other.
The Canadian Globalites are proud to say that our German exchange students (our new best friends) were amazing and incredibly respectful during their time in our homes. The personal bonds we have created with our partners are unbreakable. We all have experienced connections on a sibling-like level. Sharing the beauty of Ontario with these foreign students was eye-opening for all of us, and we find ourselves incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity. We are more than willing to open our doors to these loving, kind, and amazing kids again.
